Overview
All the music and lyrics have been written by Tony Blagg, who has over 26 years of experience in Primary School teaching, including being a Deputy Head Teacher, and leading an LEA Advisory team. He has worked in Walsall, Somerset and Devon, where he now lives.
There are 75 songs, which are on two CDs. A further 22 songs are already written and will be available to license holders for downloading. There is also a data disc, which has the lyrics, the guitar and piano arrangements on it, as well as other useful items. When the number of songs becomes a viable option for producing another disc, this will become available to schools on request, since the license will include this service. (There will be a small cost for the disc and secure postage and packing, around £6.00). This is one reason why the music is called 'Sing To Grow'.
You may use the songs, lyrics and arrangements, outside school within a range of ten miles, whenever you wish. There should, however, be no profit made by the institution from any use of the songs and lyrics.
For schools, the license fee is £15.00 for one copy, and nothing more. You will be able to download further songs, lyrics and arrangements once you have paid the 'one-off' fee of £15.00 for the three discs. This works out at below 14p for each song, including lyrics, piano and guitar arrangements. When the number of new songs reaches twenty five, you may alternatively purchase these additional songs, which will be on Disc 4. A small charge will be made for the disc, secure post and packaging, probably £6.00. You will still be able to freely download the new songs if you wish.
There are plans for arranging some of the songs for the more common instruments in schools. These should be available later in 2011. Five examples are given on the Data Disc 3.
